Adding an Email DKIM

When using the Omnigage platform to send email messages on behalf of your domain, it is advised to add DKIM to provide additional verification that messages generated by your Account are authentic.  Email DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) is a method used to identify email message spoofing.  By adding a DKIM record for your Omnigage Account, messages sent by your Omnigage Account will be sent using a verified digital signature associated to your domain which greatly improves the acceptance and delivery of email messages to recipients.

In order to add a new Email DKIM you must have Account Admin permissions for your User.  Typically this process is handled by the IT staff of your company.  The individual must have access to your domain registrar to complete this process.

You must have have previously completed the Email Domain verification for the domain that you are adding a DKIM record to.

  2. Click the Email navigation option.
  3. Click on the DKIM tab.
  4. Click the ADD DOMAIN button.
  5. Enter the email domain URL without any leading www.  As an example: yourdomain.com

    KEY:  cjvlxeawsvys5pfksvvzmu4di5et2xr._domainkey...
    VALUE:  cjvlxeawsvys5pfksvvzmu4di5et2xr.dkim...
Your values will be different, do not use these example values.
  8. Access the Records page of your domain registrar.
  9. Choose the option to add a record.  The record type will be CNAME.
  10. In the HOST Value, enter the value provided as the KEY from Omnigage.
  11. In the Points To Value, enter the value provided as the VALUE from Omnigage.
  12. Enter an appropriate TTL, typically the default value will be adequate.
  13. Save the record in your registrar.  Depending on the policies of your registrar, the value may take a few minutes to several hours to propagate.

After the value has propagated from your domain registrar you will be able to successfully send signed email messages on behalf of your domain using your Omnigage Account.
